Dr Karmakar has great expertise in the domains of Medical Device Integration, Patient Monitoring and Management Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics principles and integration with local business processes to explore newer clinical outcomes.
Presently he is working as CEO of DY Patil Hospitals, which operates one of India’s largest Hospital, D Y Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai, a multispecialty hospital with 1,500 beds in service. Has worked at top management roles in Jaslok hospital previously.
Dr Karmakar holds a MPhil (Hospital Administration) from BITS Pilani; MBA (Hospital Administration, Ops & HR) from Mumbai University; Diploma in Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery from Mumbai University, PG Diploma in Medico Legal Systems from Symbiosis Centre of Health Care, Pune, India, and Fellowship in Health Technology Assessment (International) from IIT Bombay, he has also competed Programmes in Leadership and Management from Indian Institute Of Management, Calcutta, Hospital Management from Indian Institute Of Management, Ahmedabad and is a certified Six – Sigma Black Belt practitioner
